Material Synergies

Developing a better grasp of material qualities, processes, manufacturing techniques, and the relevance of iterative modelling and drawing in architectural design through a series of experimental exercises. Experimenting with physical models and visual tools, illustrating how investigative creating processes can inspire the production of meaningful architecture. The goal is to produce architecturally significant, materially rich, and immersive space.

Task 1 – Constructing thought-provoking artworks meant to embody the nature of the material properties, manufacturing methods, and the creative capacity for synergy between diverse substances with specific features by mixing 2 different materials, utilising a range of relevant approaches.

Task 2 – Choosing from the experimental artefacts and exploring the creative potential of innovative thought to inform the development of hypothetical architectural ideas in response to established criteria and external influences. Work to demonstrate the design’s scale, proportions, and personality, as well as how the form and indoor atmosphere might be experienced by the inhabitant. It’s vital to explain the transforming events, processes, critical thinking, and strategies that formed and steered the inquiry during its early stages..
